A Bit About Me

I have worked with individuals in therapeutic settings and practice since 1999. I have a Master of Counselling Psychology and have upgraded my training through professional development on a regular basis. I have worked in a variety of settings in the areas of domestic violence, trauma, mental health, education, and program development. I opened my private practice in 2013, working primarily with children and adolescents although do see adults as well.

I approach my work from an attachment framework and utilize neurobiological information about the brain and body to work with trauma, attachment injuries, sensory dysregulation, mental health, and social challenges. In addition to EMDR, Brainspotting, and Bilateral Stimulation, I also use play, narrative work, and art. I work best when there is a collaborative approach and enjoy working with individuals and families.

My main focus is on being client-centered in all that I do. I believe that relationship is key to any therapeutic work. I work hard to be mindful of individual needs and preferences and will work with an individual’s personal strengths to help them accomplish their goals.

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Candian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a member of the Manitoba Chapter Board.

Finn is my amazing dog and he often comes to work with me. He is a rescue pup and has been in our family for 6 years. He was 10 weeks when we brought him home and has always been a gentle, sensitive boy and intuitively knows when to offer love and support. He sometimes struggles with anxiety so just give him a few minutes and he will quietly accept you and might even try to sneak a kiss.

Finn is currently on a medical leave from the office.
