Dr. Jeffery A Harvey, CPsych, ABPP
A Bit About Me
Dr. Jeffery A. Harvey is a registered psychologist who completed his doctoral training at Argosy University in Washington DC. After practicing for close to 10 years, he completed his board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology in May 2013. He completed a fellowship at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. During this fellowship, Dr. Harvey had comprehensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and mood disorders and the utilization of various diagnostic tools. He then completed another fellowship at the Maryland Center for Anxiety Disorders at the University of Maryland as a primary clinician for an adult Social Anxiety research project. During this second post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Harvey gained additional training in treating anxiety disorders using behavioral therapy techniques and prolonged exposure therapy.
Dr. Harvey has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). His clinical interests include working with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, coping with acute and chronic medical problems, and identity concerns. He works primarily with individual adolescents and adults in a private practice setting. He is also a Board member and the Membership Director for the Manitoba Psychological Society.
Thor is my dog who comes to work with me every day. He was brought home when he was nine weeks old and he has not missed a day of work since then. He is a gentle and sensitive little guy who is still very playful and eager to meet new people with a bark or a kiss.
